One of our most popular director's chairs, The Commercial Director's Chair offers business class durability and longevity. This model includes metal brackets between the legs and seat rails for additional strength and stability. Also, nylon foot glides come standard. We stock and ship from our warehouse, so you can be assured of quick delivery. This chair is made in the USA from locally managed Appalachian beech hardwoods. All joints are hand fitted and glued with steel underpinning to insure tight and long lasting rigidity. Strong joints are the most important factor in long lived director's chairs. The Gold Medal Commercial Series chair features the comfort-shaped arm pads and nylon foot pads on each leg to protect floors. The leg frame features thicker wood, larger dowels, and 1/8" thick steel brackets to reinforce the joint between the legs and seat rail. This chair will provide years of trouble free commercial use.
Director's chairs are often thought of as for actors or for use in Hollywood. This is not their only use. Director's chairs are great for home use as well. They make great additions to a bar, around a dining room table, a corner chair for a bedroom, or for all around use in any room in the house. They also make great additions to patios, decks, and around the pool when paired with one of our outdoor fabrics. When using a director's chair outdoors, always remember to bring the chair inside for storage when not in immediate use. Director's chairs are by nature intended to be indoor use chairs, and while they are great outdoors, they should not be stored and left there. Extended exposure to the sun and weather can cause damage to the woods finish and can cause the wood to crack. If this happens as a result from being left outdoors, it is considered as misuse and not something that will be covered by the chairs warranty.

PERSONALIZATION INFORMATION - Below is information regarding the personalization of our products. We offer two different methods of personalization on the chairs that we stock. These methods are Imprinting and Embroidery. We do not offer personalization on all of the products we sell. Some of these products ship directly from the manufacturer. If the product can be personalized, there will be an option that asks if you would like personalization. By the nature of the product, some products can only be Imprinted so Embroidery is not offered on these items.
- Imprinting Description - The heat imprint process is just like sign making - letters are cad cut from vinyl and then applied to the canvas under high heat and pressure, fusing the vinyl into the fabric. Many different stock vinyl film colors are available for the letter color as well as many different fonts. The result looks almost identical to silk screening and is just as durable and professional looking.
- Embroidery Description - The most traditional and popular way to personalize your chair is with embroidery. It is done on an embroidery machine, which sews the letters into the fabric. Embroidery has a raised look and is very elegant. It is more time consuming than imprinting, so it costs a little more. Since we must be able to remove the fabric and place it on a hoop in our embroidery machine, Embroidery is restricted to fewer chairs and fewer locations on the chair.
- Location - The personalization can be done on various locations depending on the chair; such as the pillow, the backpack flap, the carry bag, etc. The most common place is on the back and in relation to the back: The INSIDE is facing forwards or where one's back would touch when sitting in the chair. The OUTSIDE would be facing backwards and seen from the back of the chair. Of course, on directors chairs the back fabric just slips down over the posts of the chair and can be turned around if you like, but the back does have a conventional front and back. The outside is the side where the loops are folded around and sewn.
- Personalization Pricing - The Personalization Charge is the charge per line of text. If you desire more than one line or on both sides of the canvas, additional personalization charges will be incurred. There is a maximum number of characters allowed per line according to which chair you are buying. Please be aware that the more characters there are, the smaller the letters will be. However, we will try to make the inscription as large as possible within our limits.
Please Note we can personalize logos. Logos are all done through quotes and cannot be purchased directly online. For more information regarding putting your logo on a chair, please call us at 828-678-9660 or send an email to mail@ewchair.com. - Ordering Instructions - Your personalization will not appear in the picture of the chair on our website. All personalization will be centered horizontally and vertically in the location of your choosing. We will size it to our discretion and work area availability. Please call us for any special requests. Fill in the appropriate boxes and when you add the chair to your Shopping Cart, the final price will be displayed. If you want duplicate chairs, you can change the quantity next to the Add To Cart button or in the Shopping Cart. If you want different chairs, then finish one chair at a time with personalization information, add to cart, and then return to add the next one.
- Shipping Schedule - Personalization is done in house and can ship quickly. Normally, orders are shipped out within one to two business days after the order is placed. Same day shipping is available for a $25 rush fee and must be placed by 12 noon EST. .
- Return Policy - Because of the nature of personalization and how the item was designed to the customers specifications, adding personalization to an item renders it NON-RETURNABLE. In the instance that we make a mistake on the personalization or an item arrives broken, we will correct the issue and/or replace the item.
Cover Material: Here at Everywhere Chair, we offer 5 different materials in a large assortment of colors for you to choose from. Those materials are Canvas, Waterproof Canvas, Sunbrella, Phifertex Mesh, and Bonded Leather. Below is a brief description of each material.
Canvas - Our most popular material of choice is canvas. Canvas is the material traditionally found on a director's chair and it gives it a nice authentic look. Canvas does have a little forgiveness in size as it does offer a slight amount of stretching. Canvas can be removed from your chairs and machine washed. Doing this does cause the canvas to have some shrinkage. Our cotton canvas is 15 ounce material, the thickest we have found that can easily be installed on a director's chair. When it comes to indoor use, canvas is an absolute go to. If you plan on using your director's chairs outside, I would shy away from the canvas as the sun will bleach out the colors and cause the material to weaken.
Waterproof Canvas - The Waterproof Canvas material comes in a vast range of pattern types. This canvas is not cotton canvas but is 100% Polyester with a plastic PVC backing with a waterproof coating and features mold and UV resistant qualities. The print is only on ONE side of the material. This means that the back or outside portion of the back piece and the bottom portion of the seat will be a solid color and not feature the print. Even though these are waterproof and great for outdoor use, they are not meant to be left out to sun and weather exposure as it will weaken the fabric and cause it to fade. After use, you must bring this material inside to avoid damage from the elements.
Sunbrella - Sunbrella is a Marine Grade solution-dyed acrylic fabric. Sunbrella is often found in the boating world because of its resistence to fading and ability to tolerate the abuse of the sun. Sunbrella is similar to canvas in look and appearance. It is a thinner material than our standard canvas, but it is just as strong or stronger because of what it is made from. Sunbrella will bead water so it can easily be wiped to a dry, slightly damp level. Sunbrella IS NOT machine washable. Putting Sunbrella through a wash cycle will ruin the look of your fabric. It is meant to be wiped clean with a damp cloth. If you are going to be using your chair outdoors and want the traditional look of canvas, then look no further than Sunbrella.
Phifertex Mesh - The Phifertex Mesh covers are made out of Phifertex Plus mesh material. This is an open-weave vinyl coated mesh material making it perfect for outdoor use. It is not an absorbant fabric, so it is easily wiped completely dry for immediate use. This material resists mildew and is easily cleaned with soap and water. It does lack the classic director's chair look, but is the go-to fabric for being used poolside or any other outdoor application.
Bonded Leather - Bonded Leather gives an elegant look to your directors chair. Bonded leather is a mixture of both real and fake leather It is made from scraps and fibers used to make genuine leather and mixed with a polyurethane binder. This is another indoor fabric and one not recommended to be used in outdoor applications.
NOTE - Even though some of these fabrics are outdoor fabrics and can be used outside, that does not mean that the chair is intended for extended stays outdoors. Our director's chairs, along with most others, can be used outside for short periods but are not meant to be left outside in the elements. Leaving a director's chair outside can cause the finish and paint on the chair to fail and can cause the wood to crack. Leaving these chairs outside is not how they are intended to be used and damage caused by this is not covered by the chairs warranty. If any outdoor protection is applied to these chairs to help keep the damage from happening, the warranty on the chair will become void. The best practice when using director's chairs outside is to only leave them out when in use and when finished, bring them inside for storing.
